The New York fire hydrants are sometimes used for a little cooldown shower in the hot summertime by children and inhabitants. So the streets turn into a public fountain. Through the illegal act the inhabitants take possession of the city space for a moment again.
An abandoned part of a park in the city of Mönchengladbach. Mostly used by drug addicts and people with dogs. By putting the work there the place was activated in a new way. Every week on a friday evening the hydrant was operated by local youth activists. For the summer this part of the park became a meeting point and it opened up for people which normally don’t go there. Posters all over the city announced the performance.
